True Blood: A Guess

I have a guess about True Blood. If I'm right, it would constitute a spoiler. Or it's possible that it's completely obvious. So, if you watch the show and you don't mind a guess, click away.

Is Daphne really Sarah's sister, Amber?

Is Sarah a character in the show or in the books? I don't remember a character called Sarah in the show, but it could be I'm not paying close attention.

Sarah is the preacher's wife, the one who explained to Jason that she was pro-vampire until her sister disappeared.

Ah! That is possible. In the books, the new waitress was a spy for the family of a woman who Sukie killed in self defense. By now, the plot of the show is significantly diverged from the plot of the books that I'm putting the books aside for now. In some ways I like the show better than the books which suffer a little bit from too many characters.

Yeah--I read the first one and thought it was good, but not good enough to make me want to read more. I think I mostly like the show because of the strength of the supporting characters--Sookie and Bill actually annoy me a little, but I love the rest of them.

"Bill! Bill!" "Sookie! Sookie!!"

yeah

Mostly I'm happy that Lafayette's not dead (which, in the books I gather he is, permanently) and that Michelle Forbes is around.

Amen!

But I also love Sam...and Tara and Terry and Hoyt and...ok, I could do without Arlene. But it's such a deep cast, it's really impressive.

Amusingly, I was just thinking this morning that I hadn't been in touch with you in ages--thanks for commenting!

You mean "Ssssookeh! Ssssookeh!"

I immediately thought the horned demon in the woods was Maryanne (since her thoughts seemed to be in Latin she's got that biblical demon thing going on for her).

I was wondering if Amber was someone we encountered as a minor character in a past episode, but I also wonder if the story was made up. I think there's something suspicious about Sarah and the Preacher, like he was just gunning for his father's throne and fortune so he had them killed and pinned it on vampires.
