Date: 2005-08-06 02:14 am (UTC)I have a Braille copy of MERRY WIVES that I will use for the audition, and for learning lines if cast. It's in four largish volumes, and I'd rather not carry all four of them to the audition. Could I email you the act and scene numbers with which each volume begins and ends? Then you could let me know which volume to bring for a cold reading. That way it could still be cold -- you wouldn't have to tell me in advance which specific scene you want read. Would that work?
I apologize for not writing with these questions earlier; I realize I should have done it about a week ago.

Date: 2005-08-06 06:19 am (UTC)The cold readings are going to be a little tricky. I am happy to provide them to you in advance, but it will be hard to do them from any other text, because we have cut the script dramatically and the readings are taken from our working script. Is there any way that I could email them to you? Do you have a braille printer? If you have another suggestion, I'm open to that.
I suppose, if it's the best we can come up with, that I could go back to the original script and re-pull a couple of the readings from that, for you to read. They would be slightly different from those read by other actors, but would enable other people to read with you without getting lost.
Thank you for giving me some warning, so that we can find solutions--I am sure that's possible.

Date: 2005-08-06 09:30 am (UTC)Actually, I don't have a Brailee printer. If I'm cast, I think I can ask my coworkers at National Braille Press to print out the cut script for me. If you email me the scenes you're using for the audition, I can Braille them up myself with an old-fashioned Perkins Brailler. Obviously, I'd rather not do too much of this, since it consumes a lot of time. I'm assuming from your message that you're having people read from two or more scenes. Would it be possible for me to do one reading from the cut script and one from the original?
