Here's a not-great photo of the totally fabulous present that Jason gave me tonight:
The thing is, I saw it at the jeweler's as steve and I were headed for our weekly lunch date. I ooh'd and aah'd over it and pointed out how perfect it would be for me--not only is it an opal, which I love and wear daily as a pendant, but the stones around the opal are garnets, my birth stone. So he snuck back after lunch and bought it for me and then called Jason and said "here's what you're giving her for her birthday." And my husband, smart man that he is, said "Absolutely!"
This was merely the visible highlight of an excellent day...more about that later.
