audioboy doesn't eat Brussels sprouts, due to trauma inflicted by a vegetable boiler in his childhood. So as B. was stirring the sprouts for me, she described them to N. as "greens". He ate them cheerfully, and we talked about the possibility that the Balsamic vinegar is unnecessary in this dish and leaving it out might allow the bacon flavor to come through more fully. Then, just as he was leaving, I said "Thanks for helping out with the Brussels sprouts experiment!" and his jaw dropped. Just goes to show that cooking just about anything with bacon and garlic makes it tasty.
