Religious Persecution in the Good Ol' USA

My elder sister just forwarded the following to me and asked me to help spread the story. It's from a student of hers who has converted to Christianity, but is still very close to her Muslim family in Dayton:
Dear friends,
I hope you will forgive me for emailing everyone in my address book, but I
am trying to spread some very important news that the entire US news media
has been ignoring in favor of discussing whether Clinton will call Obama
'great' or not (the current top story on CNN.com as I type this message)
*This past Friday afternoon, my father's mosque in Dayton Ohio was attacked
by domestic terrorists. *
A "chemical irritant" was sprayed through a window of the Islamic Society of
Greater Dayton, where 300 people were gathered for a Ramadan prayer service.
The room that the chemical was sprayed into was the room where babies and
children were being kept while their mothers were engaged in prayers.
My friends are all unhurt, and my father was not in town so was not present
during the attack, however, I am still frightened, sickened, and furious
that this could have happened, anywhere, but especially in my home. I was
born and raised in a country that taught me to love equality, freedom, and
the rule of law. Thanks to the racist, xenophobic, hateful EVIL actions of
the Republican party in the last eight years, I no longer believe I live in
a country that shares any of my values. It's ironic.
The only newspaper I have found that has reported this attack is the local
Dayton paper:
http://www.daytondailynews.com/n/content/oh/story/news/local/2008/09/27/ddn092608evacweb.html?cxtype=rss&cxsvc=7&cxcat=16
However, according to witnesses, the paper severely downplayed the severity
of the attack. Here is a description of what really happened from a friend
of one of the worshippers:
http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2008/9/28/203016/697/536/613742
*More worrisomely, the lying and twisted DVD Obsession *Obsession: Radical
Islam's War Against the West* -- the fear-mongering, anti-Muslim documentary
being distributed by the millions in swing
states<http://www.huffingtonpost.com/erik-ose/pro-mccain-group-dumping_b_125969.html>via
DVDs inserted in major newspapers and through the U.S. mail -- were
distributed by mail in Ohio by a group called the Clarion FUND, a group that
publicly supports John McCain
*To repeat: Innocent children gassed by domestic terrorists for their
religion, after hateful propaganda was distributed by McCain supporters
*
Even MORE worrisomely (I know, how can it get worse?) the lying DVD "carries
the endorsement of the chair of the counter-terrorism department of the U.S.
Naval War College, using the name and authority of an official U.S. military
institution not only to validate an attack the religion of Islam, but to
influence a political campaign." (Quoted from the Daily Kos article linked
above)
Those of you who are religious, please join me in praying for all the
victims of these domestic terrorists, for all people who have been made to
feel unsafe because of this attack, and yes, for the terrorists themselves
and the propogandists that egged them on, that they might see the error of
their ways and repent.
In Christ,
Benazeer
