Round and round and round we go
Nov. 16th, 2004 04:20 pm1. for your average day, what's your favorite part of the day/thing you do that day?
This may sound terribly corny, but...going to bed with Jason.
2. someone drops a baby on your doorstep. no note. what do you do?
Well, in the short term, take it in and call the police. In the longer term, probably do my best to adopt it, if possible.
3. do you believe in long term goals? do you have any? if so, what are they?
Only in the sense that it's always good to have a plan. My goals tend to be fairly amorphous and I don't usually work toward them in a very directed fashion. The exception being getting married, toward which I was very diligent for a long time. I very much want to have children in the nearest possible term. I hope someday to write one of the several books in my head. I would like to direct Shakespeare at least once. I would like to live abroad again. Those are the ones that come to mind.
4. what's the worst thing that a friend could do to you?
Make fun of me behind my back in such a way that I became aware of it (e.g. post to LJ about what a cow I looked dressed up for some special occasion and have someone forward that to me) or deliberately work to mess up my relationship with Jason.
5. what's the best thing about being alive?
The best and worst things are the possibility of change.
1. If you had to move to another country tomorrow, where would you go and why?
Probably Australia. We did England already and while going back there is tempting, somewhere new is even more appealing. We found that living in an English-speaking country made a lot of the transition simpler and I would enjoy being on that side of the world for a while and having opportunities to travel somewhere very different.
2. When do you feel most powerful?
Whenever a plan comes together.
3. Ocean swimming or lake swimming?
Lake, usually. Oceans are sticky and usually cold.
4. Which do you value more: experience or education?
In general, experience. I know a lot of highly educated idiots.
5. What is the most perfect meal you've ever had?
Well, you can scroll back in my journal to read my answer to "the best" meal I've ever had. The first time I made a perfect grilled cheese sandwich was pretty damn perfect. Another of my very favorite meals was the five-course tasting menu we had at the Galleria Restaurant in Munich--fantastic Venetian style food, including the very best octopus I've ever tasted.
As always, ask if you want five questions of your own.
