MITC - Another day, another rehearsal

Since I had to be at First Church yesterday to show a renter around at five, I caught up on the voicemail and snailmail and did the few things that had piled up for me, including calling Verizon back to find out why no one had shown up on Saturday, when they said they would. The upshot of that call was that I had to be back 2-6pm today to wait for another tech. This one did show up--around 2:30, actually, so at least I wasn't waiting around for him for too long. But since I had done the useful work I can do until I have more input, I was sort of scrambling around for stuff. Fortunately, there are still considerable piles of books to be sorted in preparation for the Book Bonanza on Saturday, so I did some of that. Which isn't work that I get paid for, but is helpful to my sister, who's running the sale.
It's going to be quite an event, by the way. They'll be out front of the church, at 89 College Ave. in Davis Square, on Saturday, September 25th, 9am-1pm. Lots of great books, only fifty cents each! You know you wanna!
It took the tech forever to find what he thinks was the problem and even then it only fixed one of the two problems we've been having. But the good news is that the problem he thinks he found was on the outside, so we don't have to pay for the service call.
By the time he was done, it was five, and I had to be back for rehearsal at seven, so I decided to just stick it out. I took a break and went down to Nick's for a sandwich, but mostly just sorted more books.
Tonight's group of actors straggled in, so we were slow getting started, but not badly so and we got through a huge amount of work. We went over the lines and worked out the blocking--I had the entrances and exits worked out and a rough sense of what should happen in between, but it's always the details that get you. This show is very stylized, so it lends itself well to pretty stage pictures and symbolism and I think it's really working. The actors were very patient and we made a lot of progress in a short time. It would be great if we can keep up this pace.
