We decided tonight would be a good night to eat in the backyard, so we plugged in the grill out there for #77 Grilled Lamb Salad. I stuck pretty closely to this recipe, although I did marinate the lamb for a couple of hours. The salad was mostly spinach, instead of romaine, and I added basil as well as mint, plus some thinly sliced radishes, because that's what was in the rotter. I also threw in a generous helping of crumbled goat cheese. The grilled pita was an awesome addition, although I let it go until it was crispy and we ate it as chips, rather than crumbling it into the salad. Definitely a fun way to do lamb!

And for dessert there was #77 Lemon-Buttermilk Pudding Cake. I was hoping this recipe would resemble my favorite dessert at The Rendezvous in Central Square and it came pretty darn close. The bottom was still pretty liquid and I'm wondering if anyone has a suggestion on how to get it more fully cooked. I'm tempted to try a dry pan and see what happens. But even as cake-on-soup, it was delicious!

It was a lovely send-off meal for Jason's brother, who's off to law school soon.
