I was holding Munchkin when I played the video. The first couple of times the kid started wailing she pulled away from me and poked her nose at my computer as if to ask, "What the heck is that?" By the third time he wailed, she hopped out of my arms and onto her perch on my dresser and completely ignored it all.
I like the idea you have of putting words to it for the child to allow the child to hear things attached to such behaviour before it reaches this point.
Separately, it does remind me of that wonderful condoms ad:
Isaac thinks this is really funny. I informed him that he did pretty much exactly this once upon a time (minus the dog & video-camera). It's nice that they can look back and laugh :-)
So J was not much for that tantrum thing. But one day, perhaps egged on by some stellar examples at day care, he decided to give it a try. He lay down carefully, so as not to hit his head, and then tried some thrashing around and shrieking. I very unhelpfully cracked up laughing. That was it for "tantrums".

More proof of the wisdom of pets. :)
