I always find it amazing when people choose not to vote, claiming that their vote doesn't matter. If there's anything the last presidential election should have told us, it's that every person's vote really does matter.
I will admit that I sometimes find it difficult to make decisions on some of the minor races I'm not very well informed about, but I do at least make it a point to read something about every race and make a decision based on more than just whose name I like better.
there was a PBS miniseries on women's suffrage, too, back in the 1970's. i forget, now, if it was british or american women's suffrage, tho. i think the title was something like "side by side"
*nodnod* I found out several years back that my great-grandmother Fanny, for whom I am named in Hebrew (or Yiddish, most likely) was once arrested while demonstrating for women's suffrage. I don't just vote for my own benefit and convictions, I vote to honor her and all the other women who worked so hard to win what so many people take for granted.
