Sharing the Storm

We're having a lovely thunderstorm--it's been going on for about two hours now. When it first started, we were just finishing dinner, so we washed Alice's face off and went out on our screened-in porch. I sat in the chair there and Jason brought out a blanket--it's on the cool side and I'm only wearing a tank top--and wrapped Alice and me up in it. He went back inside and the two of us sat there in the dark for about half an hour, watching the flashes and listening to the rain and the booming thunder. It was very peaceful and cozy. Of course, the only reason she would sit still with me for that long is that she's got a fever, but it was still really sweet.
