Some folks at the University College London have developed a test to predict the likelihood of people becoming depressed within the next twelve months. You can read about it here or take the test yourself here.

My own score was reassuringly low.

That was interesting. I kept wanting to add "...but I'm recovering from a recent stroke!" as a qualifier to most of my answers. I mean, yes, I'm being prevented from doing things, etc, but...

Unsurprisingly, my score is fairly high (21.89%). Not that this is news.

My score was 8.49%, which sounds low to me, but apparently it's slightly higher than average.

I'm really amused that they won't let me complete the test because I'm already depressed. Of course, I already knew that! As does my therapist. I know it's the worst time of year at my job and I'm a massive ball of Awful Stuff. I'll be in a holding pattern until January.

Still, I thought it would be funny to see the prediction. Apparently it's not possible to predict if you're already depressed ... Which makes sense. My depression being manageable again depends on factors that I determine entirely.

well, i must say, that's a little shocking...especially as i've had a history of depression in the past...but i guess i've been pretty happy the past year and 1/2!!!!
