Song Virus

I have a snippet of a song stuck in my head. The lyrics are "the songs on the radio all make her cry, pretending the lyrics were written about her." I think it continues something like "sugar in her wounds and tears in her eyes, she's always surprised when life goes on without her." I'm thinking that it was a song on a tape by a woman who went by Gypsy on the con circuit. I loved and lost that tape years ago, which makes the whole thing even more poignant.
