Stella 'nother set of interview questions...this batch from [livejournal.com profile] lordfeepness.

1. Of all the places you've lived, which would you LEAST like to return to (to live), and why?

My hometown: Ravena, NY. There is really no reason for anyone who doesn't live there to go there. Since my parents left during my freshman year of college I've been back fewer than five times (funerals, one Christmas Eve service and one tour for Jason) and don't foresee any reason to return, unless my folks insist on having their funerals there.

2. Next time you talk to Robyn Hitchcock, what would you most like to ask him?

Hmmn. He's not someone I find easy to talk to--he has a very cold vibe in some ways. I would rather repeat my best offstage experience of him and just hang out backstage listening to him talk to other people until I get a better sense of how to interact with him. If I actually had to chat with him these days, it would probably be either politics (we have pretty similar feelings) or about how much I miss England.

3. Silly question, inspired by [livejournal.com profile] 3d's recent journal entry: If you were to recast the "Harry Potter" movies entirely out of Theatre@First people, how would you cast them?

Oh, that's too hard. We're not really the right ages--all too young or too old. I do think Jason would be a great Lupin.

4. Is there a play that particularly inspires you in your non-theatrical life? If so, which and why?

The best answer I'm coming up with is La Cage aux Folles, but the real answer is either "not really" or "sure, lots of them." Like any medium, there are bits and pieces I take from many plays, but no one's ever written one that speaks to me that generally or specifically. Ones that are particularly meaningful to me include 'Night, Mother and Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead, but I'm kind of an existentialist, so that's no surprise.

5. If you could install any living person as President of the United States for life, who would it be?

Probably myself. I think I'd be good at it, but there's no way I'd be willing to do what it takes to get there, barring divine intervention. I've got a fairly good grasp of world history and politics and I'm very good at finding ways to tell people things they don't want to hear in ways that won't piss them off and might actually result in them getting the message. I'm also quite good at figuring out what people are good at and getting them to do it. And I have a very good head for vast amounts of detail. So yeah, me.

Thanks for the questions. If there's anyone else who'd like some, all you have to do is say so.

1. If you were to devote yourself for a few years to one form of theatre (e.g. children's theatre, musical theatre, Shakespeare, etc.), which would you pick?

2. Terrible choice: slight facial disfigurement (say, pockmarks) or having it always rain wherever you went?

3. Do you have a standard 'comfort food' meal? If so, what's in it?

4. What is most likely to inspire awe in you--natural beauty or something created by people?

5. What's your favorite kind of museum? Children's? Science/Natural History? Fine Art? Modern Art? Train? Do you have an all-time favorite museum?
