Family Day

lillibetMy parents went with my husband this afternoon to see _Under the Tuscan Sun_, while I saw my therapist. Afterwards we went out to Kelly's on Revere Beach for roast beef sandwiches and breaded shrimp. It was pretty windy, so I didn't get any fries for the gulls, but I got out of the car long enough to feed them the shrimp tails. The car next to us had its front bumper ripped off and as I passed it my jeans suddenly ripped. I guess they caught on some sharp edge, but I didn't even feel the tug.
Then we drove up around the Nahant. The waves were spraying up over the walls and pounding against the pilings under the houses on the windward side, but on the leeside the water was so calm and blue. There are so many gorgeous houses out there, with big wraparound porches, perfect for staring out at the ocean.
Jason had us stop by Krispy Kreme on the way home and my parents got to try their first KK donuts. Sadly, they weren't hot and there were none currently frying in the River of Fat, so it wasn't the best KK experience ever, but it was fun.
Now we're home and I'm ready for a nap.
