Back in Action
Apr. 10th, 2004 01:31 amSo we're back. We've been back since late Wednesday. We had a great trip, only slightly dampened by my sister's husband being hospitalized while we were away (he had surgery, the details are gory, he seems to be recovering well). My in-laws picked us up at the airport, having arrived from Seattle the day before. So they're here. I'm trying to catch up on everything and being pretty productive, but still not managing to get to half the things I want to. I want to have the time to do some of the LJ-quiz memes and to catch up on my orkut communities and finish typing in the trip report I started on the airplane and spend some time just noodling around. Instead I've been doing my work and volunteer hours for the week (squeezing an entire week into two days) and doing laundry and catching up on the mail and the bills and the taxes. The good thing about the short notice Jason's parents gave us is that it provides the excuse for why I can't really spend a lot of time with them--I already had plans for this weekend, thankyouverymuch. Which is just as well, since I'm not one of the people they really came to see. My parents arrive tomorrow--thanks be for local siblings, so I don't have to accommodate two sets of parents at once--and we're celebrating Easter with a big family dinner on Sunday. Speaking of which, I have to go grocery shopping.
We did manage to see the excellent production of Othello that the Guthrie Theatre is touring. It was nice to be back in the audience and to make another tick-mark on the Bard's List and to see two of my cast again. So it's not all work and no play, but I'm starting to feel like a dull girl after only two days back from vacation. I can't wait until Monday night, when I can order take-away and sit on the couch and vegetate.
OK, time to move the laundry again.
