For those of you not on
theatreatfirst, I figured I would mention here that I've been cast as Penny Sycamore in Theatre@First's production of You Can't Take It With You. I had a lot of fun at the audition and I am very flattered and gratified that the director,
lordfeepness has given me the opportunity not only to take on this role, but to act opposite
jason237, who will be playing my husband, Paul. This will be my first time on stage with him, and also with most of the rest of the cast, many of whom I've worked with before, but not on the same side of the lights. The one exception is
gilana, my fabulous co-star in last summer's My Boyfriend's Wife, whom I'm thrilled to be playing with again. I'm also very excited about working with
lordfeepness--it'll be nice to have a break from being the decision-maker and it's my impression that our styles are quite different, so I expect I will also learn from the experience.
Congratulations to all the rest of the cast--I'm looking forward to this one!
And to the many talented people who turned out for auditions, but are not joining us this time around--I know you made the director's job very difficult by being so fabulous and I hope that I'll have the chance to work with you on a future show. Theatre@First is not only a community theatre, but a theatre community and we sincerely hope that you will consider yourself a part of our group and continue to be involved.
