I had been thinking about my traditional Hungarian mushroom soup, but soup never quite feels like dinner to me, so I branched out in a slightly new direction with Mushroom Stroganoff. I was working off of this recipe and followed it fairly faithfully, although I added some dill and ended up doing a little arrowroot at the end after accidentally dumping in a cup of water from the not-drained-as-thought pasta right at the end. It worked out very well and I would do it again, although I think I'd add significantly more paprika the next time around.
One of the recipes I'd looked at for the main dish suggested baked bananas as a dessert and that sounded good to me, but a little boring, so I started with this recipe, but substituted 1T of chestnut liqueur for 1T of the lemon juice and added a cup of blueberries and then served it with lightly whipped honey-cream. It was slightly more liquid than I'd envisioned and I think I might bake it uncovered when I do it again, which I will, because it was very tasty!
Thanks for being willing test subjects and excellent company!
