Adapt, Adopt, Improvise!
Jul. 26th, 2007 08:10 pmOver the past year or two, I have bought capers several times, only to discover that we already had capers at home. At the farmers market yesterday I picked up some sole and today planned to make sole piccata following this recipe, since i knew i had all the ingredients on hand. Except, of course, capers. Undaunted, I minced up some of the wonderful lemon-marinated olives that I did have in the fridge. The result was more unlike piccata in flavor than I would have guessed, but perfectly tasty once we got used to it.
