Chocolate as God intended

I don't actually like chocolate, much--a nice milk chocolate is as dark as I go and there are few kinds of chocolate I like better than a Snickers bar--but while in Belgium we tried Neuhaus and liked their milk chocolate very much. My friend, steve, knows all of this, so he thought that he would pick up something for me when he visited the Neuhaus boutique on a recent trip to New York. He found the milk chocolates and discovered one with caramel and butterscotch, which sounds perfect for me. Then he noticed that the name of this chocolate (Neuhaus gives each of its creations a name) was "Elizabeth." At which point steve looked toward heaven and said "OK, OK--no need to shout!"

And yes, indeed, they are very tasty.

Neuhaus is, indeed, heaven. I'm fond of the Yucatan bars, when I can find them.

Ooh, I hadn't realized that you were another one of those unnatural people who isn't a chocolate freak. People tend to look at me like I'm a space alien when I say things like, "Oh, wow -- there's that great chocolate so-and-so gave me three months ago, would you like some?"

Though I will say that my consumption of dutch apple caramel streusel cheesecake at the Cheesecake Factory has been radically reduced since the Godiva chocolate cheesecake has been available.

As a dyed-in-the-wool chocolate fan, I have mixed feelings about you discovering a chocolate you like...On one hand, finding a common ground, a moment of chocolate decadence in which we can relate is a welcome and warm bonding feeling. On the other hand...that's less chocolate for me! I've sort of counted on your lack of chocolate passion to help feed my attrocious habit! My chocolate! My precious! My...but I digress. I have it under control. I do. I am not a slave to my habit...
